Teaching about trees

The purpose of Project Plant It! is to promote classroom instruction that is both fun and educational. Dominion has developed engaging, age-appropriate classroom lessons targeted to elementary school students. These materials are provided at no cost to participating schools in several localities served by the company.

Every lesson includes objectives, a list of materials needed, classroom activities, handouts and assessment tools. To sustain the excitement of the program, schools receive Project Plant It! posters, stickers, certificates and a parent/guardian letter. Sample documents are available for download via the links to the right.

Finally, each participating student receives a tree seedling and specific instructions for planting in schoolyards, residential areas or containers.
